Support program for people who have recently attempted suicide living in South Western Sydney.

The Way Back program is for people who have presented to Campbelltown or Liverpool Hospitals or SWSLHD Community based Mental Health Centres, following a suicide attempt. The person must live in South Western Sydney to be eligible for free support.

A Way Back Support Coordinator  or Peer Support Worker will contact the person within one working day of receiving the referral. Support Coordinators engage with people while they are in hospital, and after discharge.

People accessing supports receive personalised aftercare support for up to three months.

A Beyond Blue initiative

Developed by Beyond Blue, The Way Back program provides support to people who have recently attempted suicide. People may experience severe distress in the days and weeks immediately after a suicide attempt and are at high risk of attempting again.
