GP Drug and Alcohol Advice and Support Service

South Western Sydney Local Health District operate a specialist alcohol and other drugs service to support GPs and practice nurses in the management of patients with substance use issues in the South Western Sydney region.

The GP Drug and Alcohol Advice and Support Hotline is provided by a GP visiting medical officer and clinical nurse consultants, to offer support, advice, shared care of patients, assessment, and referral. Further advice may be sought from an Addiction Specialists as required.

The GP Drug and Alcohol Advice and Support Service also provides in-practice support and GP Registrar training within the South Western Sydney Local Health District Drug Health Service.
