The No Wrong Door initiative is a commitment to mental health service collaboration in South Western Sydney.
No Wrong Door aims to enhance the experience of people seeking mental health support. Through a No Wrong Door mindset, individuals are supported to access the right services, no matter where they first seek help.
How it began
The No Wrong Door initiative was created in response to community feedback about the challenges of navigating the mental health system. The initiative was developed as a collaboration between long-time partners, South Western Sydney PHN and One Door Mental Health/South Western Sydney Partners in Recovery.
Under the initial model for No Wrong Door, a total of 66 organisations signed a No Wrong Door charter, committing to provide essential services to the South Western Sydney community. These organisations were given exclusive access to training and attended an annual forum to collaborate and discuss issues related to mental health support access in our region. They were encouraged to conduct a continual assessment of their accessibility via the No Wrong Door Framework.
From 2025, No Wrong Door is open to all support providers who service South Western Sydney. Read on to discover how No Wrong Door continues to provide a model for best practice mental health support.

There is no cost to become a member. We only ask you follow the guidelines in the No Wrong Door Framework to ensure you or your organisation provide best-practice support to people in need.
No Wrong Door Framework
Gather you team together to complete No Wrong Door Framework and reflect on your organisation’s commitment to the No Wrong Door principles.
Completing the framework helps organisations to support consumers and carers. Completing the framework ensures your organisation is well placed to understand, meet and continue to adapt to the support needs of people with a mental illness and receive the help they need, when they need it and from appropriate services.
When you subscribe to No Wrong Door membership, you will receive the framework and be encouraged to work through it, supported by tips and reminders in the No Wrong Door quarterly newsletter.
Quarterly newsletter
To become a No Wrong Door member, all you need to do is subscribe to the No Wrong Door quarterly newsletter. The newsletter will include tips from the framework, advertise mental health first aid training dates and industry updates which may be relevant to people who do not work in the mental health sector.

Mental health first aid training
Learn the skills and gain confidence to assist friends, family and co-workers experiencing mental health problems through the Standard Mental Health First Aid Course (4th Edition).
Two training sessions a year are hosted by South Western Sydney PHN in Campbelltown. Training is free for No Wrong Door members, with a limit three staff per organisation. This two-day course includes morning, afternoon tea and lunch.
Throughout the 12-hour Standard Mental Health First Aid (SMHFA) course you will learn the signs and symptoms of mental health problems, where and how to get help, and what help has been shown by research to be effective.
Course topics cover developing mental health problems, depression, anxiety problems, psychosis and substance use problems, as well as suicide and other mental health crises.
Participants receive a copy of the Standard MHFA manual.
Participants are eligible to become an accredited Mental Health First Aider.
Who should join
People with mental health challenges access a range of services for their recovery. No Wrong Door membership includes organisations offering direct and indirect support, such as disability services, homelessness support, domestic violence assistance, and migrant support. Educational, charity, government, and health agencies are also involved.
Membership is people who support South Western Sydney only. South Western Sydney encompasses the Local Government Ares of:
- Bankstown (pre-amalgamation)
- Camden
- Campbelltown
- Fairfield
- Liverpool
- Wingecarribee
- Wollondilly
