A key function of all PHNs is to undertake Needs Assessments. A Needs Assessment is a method of identifying the health needs of a population. It informs an understanding of our region and helps to identify service gaps, key issues and regional priorities.
Through a dedicated team of health planning professionals working as part of the Planning and Performance stream, supported by the wider organisation, executive team and board, SWSPHN routinely delivers the latest data-driven evidence as part of a commitment to improving the health and wellbeing of our community.
The SWSPHN Needs Assessment is an ongoing process, which includes literature review, data collection and analysis, stakeholder and community surveys, consultations and focus groups. We work closely with our regional partners to ensure services are planned in accordance with the outcomes of the work we do in this space.
Ways you can contribute to our Needs Assessment
