The COVID-19 Vaccination for People Without a Medicare Card program supports healthcare providers in administering COVID-19 vaccines to patients who are not covered by Medicare as part of SWSPHN’s COVID response.
Under this program, general practitioners (GPs) and pharmacists will be reimbursed for vaccinating vulnerable patients who do not have a Medicare card, at rates specified by the Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS).
Payment
Your practice or pharmacy will be paid at:
MBS – business hours (GP practice) | $36.35 per vaccination + GST |
MBS – COVID-19 Vaccine (Pharmacy) | $27.35 per vaccination + GST |
MBS – Flag fall payment (If vaccine is delivered in patient residence by GP or Pharmacist) | $122.40 + GST |
Patients must be within a vulnerable population category:
- First Nations peoples
- Older people
- People with chronic conditions
- CALD (Culturally and Linguistically Diverse) communities
- People who are homeless or at risk of homelessness
- People with a disability
Reporting
Complete the below reporting document at the end of each month.
COVID-19 Vaccinations for non-Medicare card holders report
Submit an invoice for the COVID-19 vaccination + GST to covid19@swsphn.com.au at the end of the month. Please include ‘COVID-19 Vaccination for People Without a Medicare Card program’ for the invoice item line.
