Enhancing knowledge and management of food allergies in paediatrics: from diagnosis to feeding guidelines

Aim of meeting:
To enhance healthcare professionals’ knowledge and practical skills in the diagnosis and management of food allergies, with a focus on non-IgE mediated (FPIAP/FPE, FPIES) and IgE-mediated reactions, recognition of eczema versus food allergies, and updated infant feeding guidelines for the early introduction of food allergens.

Learning outcomes:

  • Assess and manage non-IgE mediated food allergy reactions (e.g., FPIAP/FPE, FPIES) with appropriate clinical approaches.
  • Identify and manage IgE-mediated food allergy reactions, using evidence-based treatment strategies.
  • Implement updated infant feeding guidelines for the early introduction of food allergens to reduce food allergy risk.
  • Formulate and apply evidence based management plans for common paediatric allergic conditions in children.
