Aim of meeting:
To ensure managers understand which Awards apply to their workforce, how to correctly apply classifications and pay rates, and how to meet their leave and record-keeping obligations, including the requirement to ensure salaried employees are genuinely better off overall, reducing the risk of underpayment, back-pay liability, and Fair Work investigations.
Learning outcomes:
- Identify which Modern Awards apply to the different roles within your practice.
- Correctly classify employees to ensure they receive the appropriate pay rates, allowances ad employment entitlements in accordance with relevant workplace requirements.
- Recognise when salary arrangements meet Award requirements, including the Better Off Overall Test (BOOT).
- Identify common payroll compliance risks and understand how accurate record-keeping helps protect the practice.
