SWSPHN is funding the Employee Assistance Program (EAP), Best You by Benestar, to support the health and wellbeing of all general practice staff and their families at no cost up to 30 November 2023.
There are two parts to the EAP for general practice staff program available
MyCoach
MyCoach is a team of professional coaches, who are all experienced and qualified health professionals including psychologists, dietitians and social workers, to assist with everything from family and relationship issues, to challenges at work, dealing with grief, and improving exercise and nutrition. It is available to general practice staff and their immediate family members.
MyCoach includes six free and confidential personal coaching sessions which can be face-to-face, over the phone or via online chat.
To access the service, inform Benestar you are part of the South Western Sydney PHN (general practice) initiative. The service is strictly confidential with no information provided about you to SWSPHN.
BeneHub
BeneHub is an interactive online portal where people can access a vast library of health and wellbeing resources anywhere, anytime from their preferred device. The BeneHub portal is continually updated with tools, blog posts, podcasts and learning modules to help you thrive.
“We know that 50 per cent of the population will experience mental ill-health at some point in their lifetime and we know that GPs aren’t immune to that.
“The program we have funded … will provide individual coaching with qualified clinicians like psychologists, dieticians, social workers and others, depending on your specific needs for your physical and mental health. They can help with a wide range of issues, covering the workplace, family and relationship, grief, improving exercise and nutrition and lots of other things in between.”

Be assured the service is strictly confidential. No information is provided about anyone who participates to SWSPHN. We only receive a quarterly report showing high-level data including the number of people who accessed the service and the number of sessions provided. Furthermore, the service is not linked to Medicare; no information is recorded outside of Benestar.
