Aim of meeting:
This webinar is relevant to both new and experienced GP supervisors who are involved in, or interested in, teaching and supporting medical learners, including medical students within the general practice setting. As general practice continues to play a critical role in training the future medical workforce, GP supervisors are increasingly required to provide high-quality clinical teaching, learner support, feedback, and professional role modelling within busy practice environments.
These responsibilities can be particularly challenging when supporting students who may be experiencing difficulties. This session will provide an overview of key principles and teaching frameworks to support medical students and help nurture the future GP workforce. It will explore early warning signs of students experiencing significant health or wellbeing concerns, highlight common pitfalls in supervision and feedback, and discuss practical strategies to support students on a day-to-day basis.
