Aim of meeting:
This refresher course provides recognised Antenatal Shared Care (ANSC) General Practitioners (GPs) with an update on contemporary maternity care practices, policies, guidelines, and models of care across South Western Sydney Local Health District (SWSLHD) and NSW Health. The course will reinforce the role and responsibilities of ANSC providers and strengthen GPs’ knowledge and confidence in delivering pregnancy care in partnership with SWSLHD maternity services.
Learning outcomes:
- Describe the role and responsibilities of a recognised ANSC provider, and the scope of GP provision of care across SWSLHD.
- Identify risk factors in early pregnancy that require early intervention, ongoing surveillance or further screening.
- Describe NSW Health Policy and program strategies that influence pregnancy care provision.
- Identify strengths, gaps, and variations in the delivery of GP Antenatal Shared Care using evaluation data and stakeholder feedback.
