The National Cancer Screening Register (NCSR) keeps track of Australians participating in cervical, bowel and lung cancer screening programs. It helps doctors and healthcare providers by providing improved visibility of patient screening information helping encourage more conversations about preventive health and follow up high risk results.
The three main functions of the national register are to:
- send invitation and reminder letters to participants
- provide a safety net for when a person is at risk and who have not attended further testing by prompting them to have follow-up tests
- provide a history of screening results
Benefits of integrating NCSR with your clinical software
Over 3,500 practices already integrate their software with the NCSR. Here's why:
- Compatible with Best Practice Premier, MedicalDirector Clinical, Communicare, MMEx, Gynaecology Plus and EndoVault
- Get real-time patient updates
- Reduce manual data entry and follow-ups
- Submit screening results easily
- Order bowel screening kits online
- Update patient contact details
- Track screening progress
- Assign a healthcare provider for each patient.
Integrating with the NCSR makes it easier for healthcare providers to give personalised care and encourage more people to take part in the National Cervical Screening Program, National Bowel Cancer Screening Program and the National Lung Cancer Screening Program.
