The position requires extensive knowledge of medical conditions, to allow assessment, advice and decision on the appropriate course of action and intervention, through treatment; prevention and education; promoting the health of individuals, families and communities.
Education and Qualifications
• Registration as a medical practitioner with AHPRA
• Vocational registration
• Current medical indemnity insurance.
• Current driver’s license.
• CPR/ALS certificate
Essential Criteria – Nature of the work
• Diagnosis and treatment of acute infectious diseases
• Technical procedures including recording & interpreting ECG
• Performing minor surgery – excision of skin lesions, aspiration of cysts, abscess drainage, suturing of minor lacerations
• Emergency Medicine
• Mental Health
• Management of uncomplicated fractures
• Intra-articular injections
• Cryotherapy
• ECG Interpretation
• Travel vaccination
• Child & Adult Immunisations
