As our highly valued Audit and Risk Management Committee member, you’ll use your expertise in financial governance and risk management to provide independent oversight and accountability of the organisation’s financial management and risk management framework to ensure sustainable and accountable outcomes for the communities in which we serve.

 

You’ll make an impact at scale by:

  • Providing independent oversight of organisational risk, compliance, governance, and financial stewardship.
  • Monitoring the effectiveness of the organisation’s risk management framework, policies, and controls, including emerging and strategic risks.
  • Reviewing financial and non-financial reporting to support transparency, accountability, and informed decision-making.
  • Overseeing internal and external audit processes and monitoring management responses to audit findings.
  • Supporting the Board to ensure the organisation meets its legal, regulatory, and ethical obligations.
  • Promoting strong governance practices that support the safety, sustainability, and long-term success of the organisation and the communities it serves.

 

What you’ll bring

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in accounting, finance or related discipline
  • Significant senior experience in financial management, audit, accounting or financial governance.
  • A strong understanding of financial reporting, internal controls, risk management and assurance.
  • Well-developed analytical skills with the ability to provide independent, objective advice and constructively challenge.
  • A commitment to ethical governance, accountability and the responsible stewardship of public resources.
  • Experience serving on a Board, Board Committee or Audit and Risk Committee (desirable).
