Opportunity for primary care nurses to learn and earn
Researchers at Monash University are looking for nurses and midwives working in primary care to evaluate an online learning module to help discuss preconception health with patients. The study involves filling out two short online surveys, one before and one after completing the online learning module. Are you interested in becoming a GP provider of Focussed Psychological Strategies (FPS) to offer CBT-derived FPS counselling to your patients? The RACGP Rural online Focussed Psychological Strategies Skills Training (FPS ST) package for RACGP members provides essential mental health skills training without having to leave your practice. The flexible, innovative training package is made up of four modules and uses a combination of technology, peer learning groups and locally available resources. Level 1 Mental Health Skills Training is a prerequisite for enrolment. The training package has GPMHSC accreditation and on completion GPs can gain FPS provider registration with Medicare to access FPS related MBS numbers 2721, 2723, 2725 and 2727. To register

Depot buprenorphine webinar
NSW Health has commissioned free online training opportunities for clinicians to gain familiarity with depot buprenorphine use for opioid dependence. The next webinar is on Tuesday, 16 June at 5.30pm. GPs may be particularly interested but it is open to all relevant clinicians.
