Encourage your patients to ‘come prepared’ this winter

The Lung Foundation’s Come Prepared campaign provides tools and resources to help healthcare providers manage their COPD patients, keeping them as well as possible and reducing their need for emergency medical intervention during winter.  

You can help prevent COPD exacerbations in your patients this winter by:

• Recalling your patients with COPD 
• Checking for COPD flare-up symptoms 
• Scheduling their influenza and pneumococcal pneumonia vaccinations
• Reviewing their COPD medicines utilising the Stepwise Management of Stable COPD
• Reviewing their inhaler device technique 
• Developing their COPD Action Plan
• Referring them to our Maintaining Movement online exercise series.
