Learn how to take charge of your NDIS plan and have your questions answered at an information session for participants in your local area.

Understanding My Rights – My Life, My Journey is a face-to-face community conversation, in partnership with Wollondilly Shire Council, Carer Gateway and Settlement Services International.

This informative and empowering session will explore the NDIS, your rights as a participant, and fraud awareness.

Dates and venues are: Friday, 26 July, 11am-2.30pm at 1 Civic Centre, Warragamba; Friday, 9 August, 11am-2.30pm at 52 Menangle Street, Picton; Friday, 23 August, 11am-2.30pm at Sportsground Parade, Appin; and Friday, 6 September, 11am-2.30pm at 96 Radnor Road, Bargo.

Five vaccination hubs have been set up across South Western Sydney in the Fairfield, Liverpool and Canterbury-Bankstown LGAs. These are specifically for users of the NDIS, their support staff and primary carers.

Please refer participating patients and their eligible carers to these sites for vaccination in the coming week.

The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) has developed new practical resources to help GPs better support their patients when applying for access to the NDIS. The resources were developed in partnership with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP).

CPD education and training developed by the RACGP

This online education module is about the NDIS and how to support patients seeking access to funded disability supports. This CPD activity (3 points) is suitable for general practitioners, practice nurses and allied health professionals. It was developed by Wellmark, an accredited RACGP education provider, in partnership with a GP advisory team and funded by the NDIA.

Carer Gateway service providers are now delivering a range of support services to Australia’s 2.65 million unpaid carers.
The Australia-wide network of Carer Gateway service providers are providing carers with access to:

Carer Gateway service providers can also help with navigating local services available to carers through government and non-government providers, including the National Disability Insurance Scheme, My Aged Care and palliative care.
These services are free for anyone looking after a family member or friend with disability, a medical condition, a mental health condition or who is frail due to age.
Carers can access services, including in-person services, by calling Carer Gateway on 1800 422 737 or visiting the Carer Gateway website.
