Parents Beyond Breakup (PBB) has been awarded Suicide Prevention Australia’s NSW LiFE Award for Excellence in Suicide Prevention for Priority Populations, recognising the organisation’s leadership in saving men from suicide.
PBB CEO Gillian Hunt said: “This award shines a light on the plight of fathers across Australia who are in distress through relationship breakdown’’.
SWSPHN funds PBB to deliver a free ‘drop in’ peer support group for men experiencing distress related to relationship, legal and financial challenges. It is one of a number of proactive approaches to Men’s Suicide Prevention SWSPHN funds to combat the gradual increase in the suicide rate of men.
