MACS offers Hospital in the Home service

Hospital in the Home (HITH) operates through the Macarthur Ambulatory Care Service (MACS) outpatient unit at Campbelltown Hospital for stable and ambulant patients. Treatments that would otherwise require acute hospital in-patient care are provided at home or a community health centre.

            A wide variety of conditions are managed including:

• Cellulitis
• Pneumonia
• Pyelonephritis
• DVT/ PE

To refer to Hospital in the Home:

1) Fax a referral letter to: Fax 46343610 (include the patient’s contact details in the referral).

2) Next, phone the on-call MACS Registrar on 0418 161 435 and discuss the referral.

3) If the patient is suitable, HITH staff will make an appoint for the patient to be reviewed in the

MACS outpatient unit at Campbelltown Hospital.
