If you’re a GP in South Western Sydney, SWSPHN is offering you the opportunity to share your experience and passion for primary healthcare by participating in one or more of a range of projects, groups or studies to help improve the health outcomes of our community.

Clinical redesign and integrated care projects

The input of GPs is needed for three projects which will start soon in South Western Sydney. They include:

  • Eradication of Hepatitis C: working with SWSPHN and the Local Health District to identify and assess strategies for a new Hep C project. Download the flyer for more informationApplications close COB Friday, 16 April.
  • Development of a GP notification system with Campbelltown Antenatal Clinics to improve early assessment of pregnant women
  • Development of a review tool to assist GPs in assessing the physical, emotional and developmental needs of children in Out of Home Care (foster care)

Participating GPs will be reimbursed for their time.

This is a great opportunity to be involved in improving the health of Fairfield residents. Participating GPs will be reimbursed for their time.

Type 2 Diabetes – is remission possible for your patients?

EOI open for diabetes study – DiRECT-Aus

SWSPHN is seeking two general practices within South Western Sydney to take part in DiRECT-Aus. DiRECT-Aus is a translational research study looking to replicate the active arm of DiRECT-UK Diabetes Remission Clinical Trial. DiRECT-UK demonstrated that type 2 diabetes remission can be achieved by delivering a structured weight management program within the general practice setting. DiRECT-Aus is seeking to demonstrate the same, or better outcomes, within the Australian setting in general practices throughout NSW.
To express your interest please complete and return this form to vitor.rocha@swsphn.com.au or fax to 02 4625 9466 by COB Friday, 16 April and we will book a meeting with you to discuss your participation.
