The South Western Sydney PHN (SWSPHN) Board received a boost of “new insights and experiences” with the welcoming of four new Board members, at our Annual General Meeting on Thursday, 28 October.
The Board endorsed the appointment of:
- solicitor and Marsden’s Law Group Senior Partner, John Adam
- Tharawal Aboriginal Corporation CEO Darryl Wright AM
The Board elected:
- former MP and local paediatrician, Dr Andrew McDonald
- GP and Chair of Sydney South West GP Link, Dr Ken McCroary
The AGM was held via Zoom for the second year due to COVID-19 restrictions.
It included the endorsement of our 2020-21 Annual Report and support for a constitutional amendment giving the Board the option to vote on an extension to the Chairman’s term beyond six years to ensure corporate knowledge is retained when there is a high turnover of Board members.
SWSPHN CEO, Dr Keith McDonald PhD, welcomed the new Board members, saying their “new insights and experience with our governance would provide more opportunities for SWSPHN to grow”.
He thanked outgoing directors: Dr Anett Wegerhoff (GP); former MP and Consul-General of Australia in Auckland, Hon Craig Knowles AM; and solicitor Mark Allen, for their valuable contributions to SWSPHN.
