SUMMARY:An overview of thyroid disease in pregnancy
DESCRIPTION:This meeting count towards the ANSC Program CPD requirements \n\nAim of meeting:\nThe session will review normal thyroid physiology in pregnancy\, common thyroid disorders\, and their impact on maternal and fetal outcomes. GP will be able to identify women requiring further investigation or referral\, assess the risk of fetal thyrotoxicosis in Graves’ disease\, and facilitate appropriate post‑partum monitoring and management of thyroid conditions. \nLearning outcomes: \n\nIdentify women that require further investigation\, management and referral of their thyroid condition during pregnancy.\nAssess the risk of fetal thyrotoxicosis in the setting of maternal Graves’ disease.\nImplement appropriate post-partum monitoring and management of a woman’s thyroid status in the post-partum period.\n\n\nPresented by:\nDr Hamish Russell\nStaff Specialist Endocrinologist\, Liverpool Hospital \nFacilitated by:\nDr Susan Sunwoo\nGP from Milperra
