Aim:
The meeting will offer a comprehensive overview of medical negligence law in busy general practices. Topics include defining medical negligence, distinguishing actionable from non-actionable claims, reviewing recent case law related to GPs, and providing practical risk management strategies. Participants will leave with effective tools to manage and mitigate risks associated with medical negligence.

  • Outline medical negligence law in the context of a busy general practice.
  • Differentiate between circumstances that would be considered medical negligence and those that would not.
  • Describe risk management strategies to prevent medical negligence.
