Hyperglaecemia in pregnancy

This activity will provide GPs with current guidelines and information on hyperglyaecemia in pregnancy, including BSL requirements and referral pathways. It will also provide GPs with appropriate management strategies for women who are high risk during pregnancy and for all post partum women who return to their GP for post birth follow up.

Learning outcomes

  • Identify patients that require early intervention for diabetes screening.
  • Implement postpartum management strategies for patients with GDM.
  • Describe SWSLHD BSL diagnosis and referral requirements for pregnant women.
  • Implement current recommendations for Glucose tolerance testing.
