GP Living 101 Series ‘Navigating MyMedicare – a guide for general practice’

Our new CPD series aims to help general practice workplaces thrive.

GP Living 101 recognises the importance of providing holistic support to our GP workforce, which is increasingly under pressure from growing workloads.

It aims to share localised, practical advice on running practices more efficiently, and the tools to improve the wellbeing of staff.

To provide an overview of MyMedicare, the changes expected in 2024 and what general practice staff need to know to make the most of the program.

The session will discuss the importance of planning for the changes within the practice and provide guidance on resources to assist with preparing for the changes to maximise available incentives and improve efficiencies.

At the end of the meeting, participants will be able to:

  • Identify the components of the MyMedicare in General Practice program that have been introduced to date.
  • Describe the changes to come in 2024 around RACF residents and Chronic disease funding models.
  • Recognise the need for practice discussion and planning to determine roles and responsibilities in preparing your practice for future changes.
  • Recall where to find the resources available to assist practices in preparing for the upcoming changes around data preparedness.
