2025 Antenatal GP shared care: skills & scenarios

THIS MEETING IS FOR ANSC RECOGNISED PROVIDERS.

Aim:
The aim of this event is to provide ANSC recognised providers with the opportunity to enhance their practical antenatal skills, including abdominal palpation, using a state-of-the-art simulation mannequin. Additionally, ANSC GPs will receive an update on aneuploidy screening and the appropriate escalation process when deviations from normal are identified during pregnancy. The event will also focus on lactation principles and addressing infant feeding concerns, empowering ANSC providers to better support postnatal women in their lactation journey.

Learning outcomes:

  • Recognise and explain the significance of aneuploidy screening, along with the counselling and referral processes.
  • Recognise and explain the principles of infant feeding, including the escalation procedures when deviation from normal are detected.
  • Recognise and explain the escalation process when deviation from normal is detected during pregnancy.
  • Recognise and explain the significance of abdominal palpation, and demonstrate the proper technique.
