Recipients of the vaccine may present with concerns about a suspected adverse event following immunisation (AEFI) or you may suspect their presenting complaint could be related to the vaccine.
NSW Health has provided the following information on responding to potential adverse reactions:
COVID-19 Risk Monitoring Dashboard
A weekly dashboard published by NSW Agency for Clinical Innovation's COVID-19 Critical Intelligence Unit focusing on transmission risk in healthcare settings. The dashboard brings together data on cases, clusters, the public health response, and the impact of COVID-19 on the workforce. An expert panel reviews the dashboard and assigns a risk rating.
AEFI notifications
Adverse Events Following Immunisation (AEFI) are a notifiable condition under the NSW Public Health Act (2010). All uncommon, unexpected or serious AEFI, or any event considered by a clinician to be significant following immunisation, must be notified to the local Public Health Unit on 1300 066 055 or by email to MOH-covidaefi@health.nsw.gov.au using the TGA AEFI case notification form.
